Like so many other reviews I've read I'm wondering how they got it so wrong. It had a glimmer of Star Wars greatness at points but it ultimately wasn't enough for me. Why dispose of Snoke without ever revealing his story, no idea who he was or why he had powers and who trained him etc. This seemed like a wasted opportunity and a bit of a kick in the teeth. One of the other questions we had from TFA was who were Rey's parents, nobody apparently(this could be deliberate misdirection) again another missed opportunity to tell a story! Finn's mission to find the master code breaker was ultimately pointless as was the slow speed chase. I was willing to forgive it all but what they did to Luke's character was too much, I've never left the cinema so disappointed I was pretty speechless. His death felt very weak to me and just left me confused and angry. I was obviously sad when Han died in TFA but that felt like it fitted and served a purpose. Luke's death felt like a slap in the face to the fans. On the plus side the visuals were pretty great and I enjoyed Rey and Kylo's interactions. Hamill is a great actor but the voices made for his character were all wrong, where was the Luke from my Childhood?
Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy and the all Female story group led by Kiri Hart at Lucasfilms (plus Jar Jar Abrams) have literally destroyed Star Wars - and the film is explicit about it through Kylo Rens sentiments of wanting to destroy everything from the past, kill it if you have to. (These are the people who had one chance to reunite onscreen the original cast and failed so miserably).

Aside from the constant 'subversion', massive plot holes, lore breaking events, and the fact that every plot thread from The Force Awakens is left unanswered and ridiculed:

The greatest travesty is the character assassination of Luke Skywalker just to they can prop up their second rate hero MaRey Sue, who virtue of being female is essentially automatically better than everyone at anything it seems, with no training or hardship.

Lastly the cynical and childlike SJW lip service, which just insults the viewers. I like to think of myself part of the liberal left, but I can't help think that maybe the entire film is subversive. Essentially fake feminism + fake SJ + fake SW + Disney = TLJ. Would explain the fake score of 7.7 on imdb.

Aside from the great visuals and sound, as a movie it gets 3/10 as a SW movie it's a shame you can't give negative scores. The rot started with TFA, TLJ just finished off any hope.
It’s less Star Wars as you’ve never seen it than Star Wars as you’ve never felt it.
Not necessarily. The title is intentionally ambiguous, as Jedi is both singular and plural. As stated in the opening crawl of The Force Awakens, Luke Skywalker is the last Jedi. TLJ Director, Rian Johnson has also confirmed this in interviews and via Twitter. In the first trailer for this film, Luke is heard saying "I only know one truth; it's time for the Jedi to end.", which could mean he refuses to train Rey to become a Jedi but may still train her in the use of the force, which would make Luke the literal last Jedi. However, if Luke trains Rey to be a Jedi, then they would both be the last. Naturally, we can only speculate at this point. It's possible Luke is wracked with guilt over the massacre of the new Jedi Order he created. Twice the Jedi order has failed. It's likely that Luke has realized that the way the Jedi order utilizes only the light side of the Force isn't effective. So perhaps he wants to create a new order with Rey that is more in-between, embracing both the light and the dark (embracing "a larger view of the Force", "not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the Jedi", in a more honest context than those who would use such a sales pitch). Notice the symbolism of the first poster. Luke's face (light side) on one side, Kylo Ren's (dark side) on the other, with Rey in the middle separating the two and her lightsaber going from blue to red. November 3rd, 2017: Re-wrote and tightened up the question "Does the title signify or foreshadow the end of the Jedi Order?" as it rambled on and on about things that didn't really have anything to do with the question. Nor did it provide any answers or theories based on information we know.

17 November Edited for grammatical errors.

After all the Star Wars Movie series I've watched, Star Wars The Last Jedi is one of the most exciting and fun to watch. Kylo Ren and Rey are the 2 main characters in this movie and they really did well throughout the storyline. I'm planning to watch all of the Star Wars movie on a long weekend.
